Medium care
This Maiden Hair Fern variety stands out for its deep black leaf stalks, which contrast beautifully with its bright green, finely cut fronds. Compact in growth, it forms a neat, elegant cluster that works wonderfully as a tabletop or shelf plant. Like other Adiantums, it thrives in humid environments and brings a soft, refreshing rainforest vibe to indoor spaces. Traditionally, its foliage is also valued as a natural hair tonic.
Care guide
- Semi shade, Shade
- Requires more (keep soil moist but airy)
- Grow in highly humid spaces with porous, organic-rich soil such as leaf mould. Keep the soil consistently moist but avoid soggy conditions. Give it filtered light and protect from harsh sun and dry winter air. Growth naturally slows during colder months, but the plant revives once warmth and humidity return. Best suited for individual pots, ferneries, or shaded waterfall setups.
